FebruAdam

The best 'thing' I've ever gotten for Valentine's day was Adam flying out for the weekend. <3 I'm very, very fortunate.

This was what we had for breakfast the first morning he was here. I might try to learn how to make them from scratch next time.

Biscotti

I've been wanting to make homemade biscotti's for awhile, and being snowed in for a week created the perfect opportunity. I made chocolate almond, and cinnamon almond biscotti's. I think they will become something I will try to keep on hand regularly.

Winter Came

I awoke to 2 wonderful text messages this morning...one from Adam :).... and one from my boss saying not to worry about coming in to work today! Texas was 77 degrees the other day, and we woke up to 7 degrees today. Poor garden gnome and mushroom got the worst end of the deal, I'd say...

Needless to say, I love being snowed in, and today made for a big fat book, new watercolours and an owl drawn in ink.

Happy February <3

Love in a Box

Adam and I have been talking for 8 months now, and have only spent 17 days in actual person together! He's coming in February, tho! He finds ways to make the distance seem shorter, tho, like sending me spontaneous care packages, for no reason other than that he fancies me <3

He sent me these cookie-cutters this week (among other things), so I had to try them out.
I've never been a huge fan of icing, unless done in moderation, so I tried a thin, fast-drying recipe, that worked prettily.

Jupiter Winter

Spending Christmas with Adam and his family was very special..I got to be on an Army base for the first time in my life, and having Adam's dad show me the museums where there were even pictures of him working overseas, made me even more grateful for our country and military.

my mom's birthday afghan I'm working on...

...and, the clock my Grandpa brought back from the Black Forest when he was in the army. Since the Black Forest is very special to me, this is my clock when I have my own home.

P.S...I woke up this morning with a message from my friend who works for a stylish underground magazine in Chicago, telling me one of my art pieces and an interview I did for him awhile back is published! My interview and piece can be seen at this site:

It was really exciting to be published for the first time ever. :)
